In this article, Dr. Ma, Dr. KHOO and their coworkers explore the use of Integrated Piezoelectric Vascular Graft for Continuous Real-Time Hemodynamics Monitoring. This IPVG is an all-in-one piezoelectric vascular graft (PVG) constructed by encapsulating a polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) nanofiber mat with patterned silver nanowire (AgNW) electrodes between two layers of polycaprolactone (PCL) nanofiber mats. Compared to the currently used vascular grafts used in managing cardiovascular diseases that are prone to postoperative complications, this novel vascular graft exhibit nontoxicity, good hemocompatibility and histocompatibility in addition to having outstanding mechanical sensing capability and elevated sensitivity with stability exceeding 50 000 cycles.
